Welcome
AISTEM is an Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership (KA220-SCH) designed to strengthen STEM education in secondary schools by introducing students and teachers to the concepts, applications, and societal dimensions of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The project recognises that students already live in a world profoundly influenced by AI technologies. Therefore, AISTEM develops learning content, online courses, teacher-training activities, and a collaborative environment that helps school communities both understand and critically engage with AI.
The overall aim of AISTEM is to make Artificial Intelligence accessible, understandable, and pedagogically valuable in secondary STEM education, while supporting students’ adaptation to an AI-driven society. It seeks to:
-
Provide learning and teaching resources that introduce the basic concepts of AI and stimulate reflection on its ethical and societal implications.
-
Support students’ first practical steps in using AI and simple machine-learning tools (Python/Java/Scratch).
-
Build capacity in schools by training teachers, developing pedagogical materials, and supporting the uptake of AI-related STEM education.
The AISTEM partnership spans four countries and includes schools, universities, public educational authorities, and civil-society organisations. The Bulgarian partners include the 40th General Secondary School “Louis Pasteur” (Coordinator) and the Probudnik Association. From Greece, the Technical University of Crete (TUC) – Leader of content development and implementation, and the Directorate of Secondary Education of Chania. From Turkey, the Mugla Directorate of Education, and from Slovakia, the Club Intelectuals.
All partners contribute to content development, piloting, training, co-creation workshops, dissemination, and quality assurance.
